Day of Departure

Welcome to the blog page for the Ukraine 2011 missions team!
We are so excited that you will be sharing this journey of spreading God's Word.

If you haven't heard about what we do in Irpen, here is a brief overview...
We will be running a Sports Camp/Vacation Bible School for children ages 5-13 during the week days in the mornings. After the camp hours are over we have different activities each afternoon, such as construction on the new church building, sightseeing, and volunteering with other families in Irpen. Later in the evening we help Irpen Bible Church run sports tournaments (soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, tetherball, badminton) for youth and young adults. Also in the evening, we will be holding an ESL (English as a second language) class as well as a women's small group. Typically after these activities end there is a gathering in the current church building, where a testimony is given by one of our team members, as well as a well-known Ukrainian. Some of the supplies we have brought are used as "lottery" prizes and prizes for those who have won the tournament games.

Our flight today is at 5:20 from Charlotte to Munich. We have a 5 hour layover in Munich before taking off for Kiev. We will arrive to Irpen around 5:00 PM Saturday (Ukraine time).

Some things we would appreciate prayers for...
-Safe travels
-Health
-No loss of important items (i.e. passports, money, luggage, etc.)
-Team fellowship
-Fellowship with Ukrainians
-Open hearts
-Being flexible for Christ

Thank you for taking the time to read this. We will post a new entry when we arrive in Irpen. We look forward to sharing this journey with you!
